on leap puts:

i think that first of all, there is a natural tendency of markets to go up. there is a complacency that says that in the year 2000 prices will be somehow universally higher. second, many folks (even professionals) don't quite realize the implications of an american-style (as opp to european) expiry for puts...

Tried stuff like that this summer but got nowhere... If it is obvious, it doesn't work... at least that has been MY experience.
