nice post and i have to agree. can't help but add that in my opinion we have been in a general "bear" market for most stocks which is starting to affect even the indexes lately. i have been noticing this since mid december. i have some at 25 3/4 and just can't bring myself to sell because the sales and earnings from the past and potential future are just too good. if anyone disagrees, just do a quick price to sales ratio and correct for cash. it will be very attractive and this is without the aquisitions which they PAID cash for. companies pay cash for another company when they feel their stock is undervalued, period. just read a few books on business.
the thing here is the "panic selling" mainly due to the asia crisis. yes, it may hurt some short term which i feel is already more than in the price, but it will pass soon and the strongest (ie creaf) will come back roaring strong. and as for myself, i think it is time to double down. anyone else want to give me their shares?
ps. it is said that fair value for a company is a price to sales ratio of 1.5 to 2. but that assumes profit margins of 10 to 15 percent.
