Jay, Thanks for your Very Informative post! Much appreciated!

I continue to be uncomfortable with the Short Interest, also. I could believe the Shorts were waiting for year-end tax-loss selling, but why would anyone see Cymi as an attractive Short here? At the same time, I can't believe they're idiots. Sure is interesting, eh? I guess we'll see how it goes.

Thanks again!
Best Regards,

diana

Jay, an excellent post.

Believe it or not, I am actually very bullish on Cymi at this moment based on what I have observed from the activities of the stock (not the fundamentals). I am saying this while realizing the bearishness of the whole market. The semi equipment stocks who lead the market down in October may lead the market UP in the next one or two months. Although the overall market may not have too much room to go in 1998 and may only have the new lows to make near term.

What I observed seems like Semi equips had been holding well when compared to Nasdaq and SOX, or SUX according to John. Volume was very light for Cymi during the last panic sell-off on Friday. This ought to indicate something.

Besides, I totally agree with you that the shorts have got to cover this stock slowly during the next few weeks if they don't want to risk the vanishment of all of their profits.

When the market stabilizes or going up, Cymi got to do well. But, heck, I have been wrong before.
