Cash for Clunkers did more for the environment than the economy, by removing old polluting vehicles from the road. Conservatives just don't get that, they don't seem to understand how much cleaner even FF vehicles have gotten over time.

When Romer declared the stimulative effect over, we were still facing some of the worst unemployment of the recession. Even obama himself made fun of the "shovel ready" jobs. It was essentially the same bungled effort which dragged out the Great Depression for a full decade. As to Trump, the economy started building the day after Election Day and hasn't slowed down.
