President Obama made a $4 trillion deal with Boehner that his caucus refused to accept. What was their counter-proposal? Nothing. Our government is crippled because people like you voted to cripple it. Regarding O'Neil - the republican lie goes something like this. Reagan gets credit for massive tax cuts and massive military spending and doesn't get any of the blame for the resulting debt because Democrats didn't do the spending cuts. Reagan never proposed spending cuts. How hard is cutting taxes? Not hard at all. How hard is it to explode spending? Even easier than cutting taxes. How hard is it to cut spending to pay for what republicans didn't have the balls to raise taxes to pay for? Impossible.
