Thanks, TOM, for the information. Looks like Presstek is going to have to be the accuracy in media police too! I think we've just discovered why Pierre isn't posting a copy of the lawsuit settlement on the thread. He never posts things in favor of Presstek! <<<The suit has been settled in favor of the Company.>>> ************************ News Flash January 8, 1998 The article in the December 1997 debut of Digital Production Executive Magazine (DPx) contains inaccurate and misleading information about Presstek and its intentions. In both headlines and the article, DPx incorrectly stated that Presstek is raising prices on its PEARLdry printing plates used on the Heidelberg Quickmaster DI Press. In a press release issued October 31, 1997, Presstek announced that to partially offset expected reductions in shipments of imaging systems for the Quickmaster DI in early 1998, that prices for such imaging systems would increase. There has never been a plan for, or announcement of, a price increase on DI plates. Current owners of DI presses will not be affected, contrary to statements in the DPx article. In addition, the DPx article claims that Presstek sued a competing supplier of DI plates. In a press release issued September 17, 1997, Presstek announced it had filed suit against three individuals for defamation and unfair business practices involving the Internet. No "competitor" of Presstek was sued, and the suit was not motivated by competitive concerns. The suit has been settled in favor of the Company.** (emphasis mine) Presstek has asked the Publisher of DPx to correct these inaccuracies, and regrets any concerns of customers, distributors, or partners that may result from this inaccurate article.
