Most reliable treatment center in California (and perhaps the USA) for prostate cancer is Loma Linda University Medical Center. They dont have the newest machines but they have the most experience: decades, and a great track record.

Scripts Institute has Proton Machine and some sort of partnership but they are currently in bankruptcy (although still treating patients). I believe Scripts is going to cease relations with the company/investors operating that facility.
re: " ... but of course self-curing cancer by being happy go lucky is probably more economic"

Absolutely, there is an ancient proverb (found in the Christian Bible) that says: "A merry heart does good like a medicine..."

As for the risks of recurrence etc, one has to weight those risks against the risks associated with other forms of treatment or 'cure". A prostatectomy which some doctors call a "cure" has MANY risks associated with it. Assuming you're willing to accept the risk of a prostatectomy, you will also have to deal with a wearing a catheter and diapers for spell (weeks/months) The healing process is rather lengthy - 6 mos - 2 years. This is not the case with PBT or even Brachytherapy (another subject altogether).

My dad had prostate cancer and was treated with brachytherapy and had no further issues. Died last year @ 91. paternal grandfather had prostate cancer -- not sure if he ever got treatment. Died 93.
