Agree with you on the tax effect. Either way, we'll know that end game soon and then the market end game in the first half of next year. I'm going to take a breather for the rest of the year. Heading out to Colorado for the rest of the month to enjoy some snow and skiing with the extended family. Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year to you and SI!

Happy New Year! Tax bill passed and we'll all see the impact soon enough. I have to say that I wasn't too thrilled about the tax bill, but now that I've been reading more about the details, I like many aspects of it. I think it is going to be a big boon to businesses. It's about time we have a government that is friendly to businesses. I've posted before about how this country needs a strong business/government partnership, so we can be focused on keeping our country wealthy, so we can buy our way out of the big fiscal hole we're in. That's a good foundation. Next, we need to figure out how to make sure everyone participates in our economic recovery and close the rich-poor divide and rebuild the middle class, which is so important for keeping the American dream alive. Along the way, we need welfare reform, so that all those entitlements don't sink this country into economic stagnation. All the freebies need to be rethought and the portion of welfare we want to keep, we need to fund it properly in a sustainable way. Eliminate the ponzi schemes. We need a pay as you go model for welfare and social security, not the ponzi shit we have now.

As for the stock market, I posted elsewhere I think we have a 75% probability of a 20%+ correction in 1H'18 and a 95% probability of a 20%+ correction by Oct'18. If that doesn't happen, then you can publicly shame me on these threads and I'll apologize for being incorrect. But from the indicators I'm watching, if that doesn't happen, I will be absolutely shocked and will admit that nothing makes sense anymore.

Have a great 2018!
