John, I agree with you 100% with regards to releasing the news as soon as it comes out. Houses such as Midland only have so many shares they can sell, and then when they run out this thing will finally move. The more news we release, the more volume this stock will generate to get rid of these people. I have been told by someone from Midland, that they have been told to sell most mining stocks, and ANYTHING to do with Indonesia. They are absically writing the stocks off and DONT care what they get for them. I was very impressed yesterday to see this stock take Midland dumping over 215000 shares and only fall 2 cents. All of the right buyers came in to buy. That is impressive. If we keep releasing news, regardless of market reaction, there will be a point where some people are going to say "enough is enough" and buy this stock through the roof. Remember, Midland and others who are selling, dont have the info that some on this thread do and they are simply writing stocks off. With regards to B.C., I think that they are calculating a resource estimate, and 1998 drilling targets, all to be released at once, no holes. I agree with this aproach for both properties. Holes truely mean nothing, because it seems that everyone has good holes. Resource estimates, confirmed by Strathcona are the only thing that means anyhting. And to get a real market reaction on this thing, a COST OF PRODUCTION figure is also needed.
Anyone, have any ideas about the BORATE deal, or when production figures are going to be worked out?
Mike

John: I think the stock market in general is going to be very volatile around the world this year, and in order to get the ANZ share price up quite a bit it's going to take spectular news from ANZ. There are so many negative forces that are keeping it down at the moment. I don't know much about borate but the Erin Ventures joint venture sounds good to me for this diversifying into different metals and minerals. When one metal has a low point other metals could keep ANZ profitable in the future. Maybe the EV JV, if it is big, will have the potential to attract new investors into ANZ because the Indo situation is turning off many potential investors. Also in addition to resource estimates the ANZ management must give investors an idea of the production costs (which I believe should be low) if it wants to get the attention of potential investors. Unless we are in the beginning of a bear market I do not think that it will take MONTHS for the share price to appreciate somewhat. I do not think we are in a general bear market (in North America) but we will see volatility and a sideways market this year; however, the mining shares in general will be struggling for many months. The large institutional investors will be slow to add mining shares to their portfolios for a while and we need them as well as the small investors to bring volume buying into ANZ. If we do not see the share price advance as much as we think it should this year I strongly believe next year we will be very happy with the price - if the whole economic situation around the world does not collapse. I am holding most of my ANZ shares for the long term.

Regards,
Ray Fidler

If ANZ trades below its cash value we're looking at 15 cents. That is hard to fathom but not impossible I suppose.
