If President Trump Feels Trapped Between Scandals Now, It’s His Own Fault Posted at 9:00 am on December 12, 2017 by Susan Wright [ Blame the President's deep stupidity, not the "deep state." ] The gentleman doth protest too much. For somebody his acolytes portray as a tough guy, he’s got to be the whiniest, most easily offended little snowflake in all of the Trump blizzard. Frankly, President Trump hasn’t had the typical first year honeymoon phase of his presidency. The only other president to have it as bad in recent memory was George W. Bush, and that’s because his predecessor left him with a security nightmare, resulting in the worst attack on American soil in our history, only 8 months into his first term. He spent the next 7 years trying to handle a problem that still rages to this day. Trump came into office under several ugly clouds. To begin with, he’d spent the whole of his campaign acting like the world’s most perfect idiot. Primary voters somehow saw that as a virtue. Next, he was hit with multiple women accusing him of misogynistic, abusive, inappropriate behavior. Then there was the Russia thing that hit days before the inauguration and has rolled on, occasionally aided by Trump’s own words or actions. [ ALL of his problems were aided by his own actions and words. ] With this recent surge of women (and occasionally men) coming forward to reveal the corrupt behavior of some powerful men, it was only a matter of time before Trump’s accusers were brought back around. It makes sense. Everything we’re hearing about now is everything that Trump managed to blow off during the election, but with different results. Three of Trump’s accusers, Jessica Leeds, Rachel Crooks, and Samantha Holvey joined together on Monday, in order to ask that Congress open an investigation into Trump’s behavior. Trump lashed out at his accusers earlier Tuesday morning. Donald J. Trump ?@realDonaldTrump Despite thousands of hours wasted and many millions of dollars spent, the Democrats have been unable to show any collusion with Russia - so now they are moving on to the false accusations and fabricated stories of women who I don’t know and/or have never met. FAKE NEWS! I get that he’s feeling some trapped rat-level desperation. Maybe he should just consider his own part in all of this. It’s not all some Democrat plot. A lot of money has been spent on the Russia probe, it’s true. I mean, not nearly as much as has been spent in things like golf cart rentals for Secret Service members, and everything else required for just a couple of your lavish, near-weekly vacays at one of your clubs, but still a lot of money. As for what the investigation has turned up, other than the 4 indictments of Trump-connected individuals, we won’t know the extent until Robert Mueller cuts off the lights, so we probably shouldn’t speculate about the end results, just yet. As for the women, nobody “moved on to.” These women were already out there. These accusations came before the Russia probe. And you don’t know or never met these women? Five of the accusers were beauty queens, some from different years and time frames, giving similar stories of your behavior. One woman, Summer Zervos, was a contestant on his reality show, “The Apprentice.” Jill Harth was a business partner. Those are just a few. For Trump to say he doesn’t know them, or never met them is demonstrably false. When men like John Conyers and Al Franken are being driven out of their political careers (deservedly) for their bad behaviors, the notion that Trump shouldn’t face equal scrutiny is ridiculous. Just as it is with the Russia probe, Trump’s own words have condemned him. The 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape left little to the imagination about Trump’s attitude towards women. Pair that with the accounts these women are giving, and nothing about any of the stories seems out of place. But, Trump is going to be Trump. His outrage is hypocritical, and unless he makes some big changes, he’ll likely spend whatever time he has left in office being miserable. redstate.com
