The feds have a big fake comment problem.

As we've explained, the Federal Communications Commission’s plan to scrap net neutrality may get held up by reports of fake comments in its public consultation. But a report by the Wall Street Journal ($) suggests the problem is far larger, with fake comments from stolen, defunct, or unwittingly volunteered e-mail addresses found in similar dockets at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and Securities and Exchange Commission, too.
