POTUS will not learn from Bannon's AL fiasco says Maggie Haberman of the NYT, someone Trump likes and respects and favors with interviews:

Gonna post that however unhappy Trump may be with Bannon, it will not have a lasting negative impact on Bannon's ability to sway Trump.

Trump sees Bannon as able to impact the base that Trump is constantly in fear of losing. And Bannon/his allies will point to other factors (Ivanka among them).

Trump is an entirely reactive politician - reacting to himself, reacting to others. His political instincts were guided by sight and sounds from rallies that he now rarely attends. So Bannon has been an early warning system for him.

Bannon is far from only warning system - Trump seeks lots of inputs, polls most people around him about what they think. But he believes Bannon is among few people wo understand the movement that elected him.

Trump I many ways is a puppet. Does Trump really have an original idea of his own? NO. He gets his talking points and Identity from others. Like those yakking heads on Fox and Bannon. @realDonaldTrump is a phony.

Trump isn't one to learn lessons or adapt. Look at his tweeting, constantly he's cornering himself with a tweet, yet can't give it up. Gonna be his downfall.
