And if the President is adamant, who is going to stop him from overriding the objections.
I don't have any military experience, but even I know that every military officer knows not to obey an illegal order. There is literally a ton of training around that, not to mention dire consequences for those who act otherwise.

"I was just following orders" doesn't cut it anymore. Never did even during the Nuremberg trials, and it never will in our modern day military, especially in a nuclear age.

And before you dismiss my opinion, know that I have plenty of friends who are officers in the Army and Air Force. One even served at a nuclear missile silo, i.e. he was the guy who sat in front of the "big red button." They are not the kind who will just say, "Uh, OK Mr. President, whatever you say" when it comes to launching an arbitrary nuke.
