Because they will have a major hand in every decision going forward. Toshiba and WDC had similar goals. Apple and Bain have competing interests to both. The broth will be spoiled by too many cooks in the kitchen, and WDC will be facing major headwinds every step forward. Toshiba was run by committee. TMC is being run by a committee of committees, each with a different goal. This does not promote good business.
