How has the author done using this tool, or others that have used it?

Apparently, this is a traditional charting method which has been in use in Japan since the late 1800's. Other than that, I don't have information about it's sucess rate. But consider this: we've just been through a fairly disturbing market over the past few months, and you can look at the charts yourself and see how you would have fared if you were using the TLB chart for trend-reversal signals. Unlike lots of other charting methods, the TLB signals are pretty clear cut, so looking at historical charts you can make a pretty good approximation of what you would have done.
