You're right! But I never associated it with overcorrecting before-interesting thought. We did go through a period where we noticed it with the boys and had to point out the difference, though, so you could be right.
In adults, who should be smart enough to figure it out, doggone it, I associate with an attempt to sound educated. It always embarrasses me because I know they're trying so hard. Of course, Clinton just embarrasses me anyway.
