Chris,

I had this persistent error message for 6 months and about gave up fighting it. Then in a moment of unwitting trial and error inspiration I somehow discovered that using "MASTER" as the name of one of my Metastock data subdirectories caused MS and other programs that use the MS format data directories to hiccup with this result. I think it may have to do with the fact that there are MASTER and EMASTER files located within them and the MS data format access programming gets confused (its pretty cludgy by modern standards anyway). When I renamed the suspect subdirectory "BASE" (or anything other than MASTER) all problems vanished.

Strange but true.

Has anyone had this error signal happen when using the 'open file' and trying to open
the 'Data' folder?: "Folder is not Open" I get either a retry or cancel option. Hit cancel
and the data folder opens. It also happens when using the 'up one level' icon to when
trying to open the data file.

Thanks for any help,

Chrisg
