I understand a fruit of the poisoned tree defense will be attempted IF the transition email are ever used in court. What are lawyers for after all?
Things to think about.

- The poisoned tree defense may be rejected.

- Even if it wasn't rejected and was wildly successful, people are going to end up trying to morally defend someone everyone believes is guilty but who escaped punishment on a legal technicality.

- The emails may never actually be used in court at all. But only be used to scare people into pleading guilty and turning state's evidence.

If the emails don't even get offered as evidence in court, the poisoned tree defense won't even be able to be mounted.

What we've seen so far:

Four indicted and TWO GUILTY PLEAS. Yes, on things like lying to the FBI or FARA - still crimes but less scary charges than others they could've brought. Remember, the goal isn't just to convict the first people indicted on everything possible and lock them up for a long period, it's to open their mouths, get them to testify. Mueller's goal is to turn these four into government witnesses. Sworn testimony from participants, co-conspirators is Mueller's goal and is going to be the best evidence possible and pretty much irrefutable.

I've read there are SEVEN other court filings that haven't been publicly announced. Mueller has been really good at keeping things secret till he's ready for them to be revealed. There are going to be MORE indictments to be announced, there are plea negotiations going on, there may already be guilty pleas already negotiated with people wearing wires to get evidence on others. As people believe happened with "coffee boy" Papo over a period of 3 months.

Whose names are on those not yet to be announced court filings?

I wouldn't be surprised if Podesta were one ... he worked with Manafort despite them being on "different teams." And Podesta took the step of closing his firm and firing all his staff. You don't do stuff like that unless you think something bad is going to happen.

Jared has been so flaky in his financial information filings, he's probably lied to the feds too. He's looking to hire a crisis managment team. I'd be amazed if he doesn't get indicted.

That's only two out of seven. We haven't begun to see all the arrows Mueller has in his quiver.
