not only that, but declawing cats is the
equivalent of cutting off your fingers at
the first knuckle. it is a very cruel thing
to do just to save your chesterfield.

That is excellent advice, Josh.

I keep my cats indoors (I don't have any right now) but still don't declaw.

I find that just clipping their nails works best - and a little training to help stop the furniture scratching.
