I read C. Wright Mills' book "White Collar" at UC Berkeley. He was quite prescient.

Well, ceteris paribus, given a choice of an old assessment versus a new assessment, I typically choose the newer assessment. I generally assume that the older assessment hasn't taken into account the latest methods of influence.

I don't understand what was gone. Do you mean the US economy or the Brazilian economy or the world economy, or something else? Are you saying the elites drove the growth rate down for their own benefit? Do you think the Chinese elites are driving down its economy to hollow out its middle class?
