You make a good point. He may have suffered a mental breakdown from the sheer guilt of several things he did that not only broke his oath of office, but were illegal and treasonous - such as leaking a private conversation that he had with the president. He was personally working to get Hillary elected knowing full well that she made it possible for our worst enemies to read classified information. And he likely knew about the Uranium One bribes - and other things. He certainly knew that Lynch and Billyjeff had met and that Hillary walked because the FBI arranged it.

You would think with his expertise he would of covered his crimes better. When you know Hillary's going to be elected and Trump has no chance, you smugly accept that if anyone ever finds out about the goings-on in the Obama administration and departments, time will have long eroded most Americans' concern about such. Comey and company (and most democrats) were so deep in their comfort zones that when Trump won, absolute hysteria took over and throwing everything at him, including impeachment was their only way to avoid prosecution for what they knew they had done.
