questions whether Microsoft is sincere, it's just that
they are sincerely screwed up.


Maybe they are :-). But security has many facets. You
are probably referring to long term design issues with
the security models.

Reading the details of this security attack
on SI, I would not gloat or present this as a "Microsoft OS vs others"
issue. This specif one is from the kind of attacks which have
been successfull against Unix machines also in the past and it is
good to see that hackers have discovered a new platform to
entertain themselves :-). I expect this to be a short-term bug
which will get fixed in a hurry and will cost some engineers
at Microsoft sleepless nights.
