As most of you know, I know little about the oil industry and even less about TA, so I am mainly a sponge on this thread. Given the carnage of the last few weeks, this is my chance to contribute some positive info to folks who have been very helpful to me. IMHO the following (while not oil or service stocks) may prove to be nice short term havens... csco, inss, file, vntv

If you have a diversified portfolio and are interested/invested in tech stocks, specifically software, your welcome to email me for more info.

I have no fear but I am also diversified...

glen, I've been saying that we are going lower on these oil service stocks and Oil will continue to drop and may even find itself at $12 per barrel...investors on this thread have given me hell about this, but now finally, some are believing me...

Glen, the projected prices that you posted are totally insane,
but you know what: you might be right, Friday's price are insane too.

For some reason companies that loose $1 or $3 per share and are expected to loose money for several more years can fetch $80 per share and companies that are making more than $1 per share are can reasonably be expected to earn 30 to 80% more next year trade at PEs of 9.

From all that i can see, our companies have most their rigs contracted at high dayrates for 6 months to 3 years from now. I haven't seen any contracts cancled. I haven't seen any major oil companies saying: "Crude prices will go down for ever, we will not be looking for any more oil.

Does anyone know if rig leases can be cancled? If not, future earnings are pretty much in the bag, right?
