sts, look at it like this, the 1900 to 2200 were a blip on the planet's population history. The big population bulge gets old. Dies out. Planet will return to his historic1 billion.

Once we got science, it had a major effect on the population and that led to the peoples bubble. It take a couple of centuries for the whole Earth -with all its disparity in education and level of sophistication- to deal with that.

You don;t need to have 5 kids to get two surviving into adulthood. You can have one or two and they will 100% survive into adult hood.

See Arun's post. India too is at replacement rate. 20 years ago that trend was well under way in India.

Worldwide Mq has predicted Peak People in 2037 barring pandemics wars or asteroids... that prediction was in 2007.

The Club of Rome Malthusian MADness has been shown to be bung. Same with Global Warming. You must have missed the memo on that.

Africa is still a calamitous catastrophe in progress but in most other places things are good.

What's needed is continued eugenics to improve quality. That process is going very well and will accelerate as dna technology comes on stream to help women in the selection process. Quality control needs a lot of improvement.

Average intelligence of 140 IQ would be a good start.
