Impeachment is a political process. If you don't have a majority in both the House and Senate Democrats are likely wasting their time or blundering into arousing Comrade Chump's base. The challenge is that there are few constraints on what a President can do internationally and there are likely folks in the Pentagon delusional enough to start a war because they see an easy victory.

" And all those state leges which will be re-districting in '21. "it may not be their best move." I agree. Impeachment is now up to the 2020 voters. It would feel pretty good, tho. Too bad we no longer have office-holding R's willing to put the country ahead of their party. Maybe, if the Dems win 30+ Senate seats in Nov, we can give it a try.

There is a lot that can happen between now and the midterms. trump still has plenty of time to continue to fuck up and piss people off. It wouldn't take a whole lot of work to nail him with ongoing emoluments violations virtually since day one of his time in office. Then there is Mueller. I don't think that I am alone in thinking that he is building a hell of a case against trump for obstruction of justice. The proof is there and Mueller is just buttoning things up tight, IMO. trump is fighting Mueller's investigation way too hard for a guy who continually claims he is 100% innocent. Impeachment may very well become what simply has to be done. trump is as corrupt as they get and to allow it to continue would be setting precedents that can't be reversed.
