Paradigm Shift Happened = women around the world are not breeding like rabbits. Now people have to WANT to have children.

I had a maths lecturing many decades ago and about all I remember of what he said was that God was very clever with reproduction because just in case the attraction of having little feet pitter pattering around wasn't enough, he also made sex highly desirable.

With contraception being cheap and reliable, people now have to want the pitter patter of little feet. That cuts out a lot of people who think also of the financial and other costs.
