LC: Since you brought up the contest ... While it has become a SI tradition and certainly is a lot of fun, looking at the previous contest results / participants, it becomes pretty obvious that an individual’s strategy doesn’t determine winners or losers. A big / the biggest part is luck. More specifically, luck in terms of timing and the timing of the contest (the fixed 12 months time frame) as it doesn’t reflect (trading) reality. My own 2017 pick is a perfect example. My actual returns on MOX are quite different from the contest return. My true ROI is actually lower because I reacted to a fairly current event and bailed leaving a fair chunk of money on the table. I still think I made the right move but clearly, Mr. Market disagrees with me at this very moment. In short, contest standings don’t necessarily reflect actual performance as in real profits or losses.

sde.v - this little thing you may recall LC, has been comatose oilpatch play for years now, was originally spinoff from something you and i had, so far back i can't remember ... in the past it's been one of the little illiquid tickers i play amateur specialist on, leaving in bids and offers, getting occasional fills, and keeping my lip zipped, more to make the fifty tickets per month than anything ... haven't had a trade in it for probably a year, could be two years now, don't know, had bids in this fall but no fills ... do have bits left in two accounts though, so when TD was working [!] noticed it getting bid up ... chatter on ceo.ca is about change of business, which would not be completely illogical, but for which there appears no firm evidence so far tk.v - congrats on the contest, Tinka has been one of my top dollar-amount winners this year, probably near top of percentage winners as well ... definitely do not plan to sell any more until well over the loonie, i've made the rather large mistake of not reloading enough, after lucking out on great sales points, bought less than half back about twenty cents cheaper ... some of the first shares this go-round having been nailed at eighteen cents, lol ... thanks to mentions by among others, yourself, so thanks and happy new year
