It's a shame, since one of my all time favorite dishes was once Tuna Tataki... and it was all about the sauce... oh boy, what a savory dish

But then, the large tuna that travel to greater depths of the oceans, are likely to have higher mercury pollution

scratch that one of the list... ba bye

Salmon!... love it... especially smoked... now salmon is on the not to do list... especially if it's not wild caught

more and more I am scratching off meats in favor of veggies, beans, nuts, etc... but I will still do my occasional guilty pleasure of meat, especially if it is not a factory farm meat product, that is basically criminal/immoral imo

You are correct, but longevity is a big problem to. Rock fish and halibut can live a 100 years. So I keep rock fish consumption low and only eat little (chicken halibut they are called) halibut. And when I get rockfish filets I get the smallest filets. For white fish I like pacific cod. Pollock is too soft, but a delicacy in Asia.

I was in the local health food store in Las Vegas just a few minutes ago and noticed they add color to the farmed Atlantic salmon.

The methyl mercury deleterious effects are what's the problem. The smaller fish are lower on the food chain, eating mostly plankton, and therefore have less of it. Just guessing... but I doubt there is much science to this.

You are right on the money!
That is what I was referring to.
Furthermore farmed salmon is prone to an unhealthy diet that is passed on to you.
