My apologies Ramsey - I read Maurice's note first and he pointed out that you would be philosophically opposed to hat passing so I haven't passed it around yet. But then you said you would be very greatful. Not sure what I should do.
I interpreted the article as saying that there may be little fundamental effect on US economy from Asian collapse. Stocks have collapsed nonetheless. One interpretation is that there is a big difference between Main Street and Wall Street. That is of course always true - the stock market has predicted 12 of the last 3 recessions! And the Oracle as well as Atmel stories are chilling. However, I have some doubt that all of Oracle's troubles are due to Asia. There is another explanation going around on the Oracle thread and it may be Ellison trying to pass off other problems as being due to Asia - I guess we will find out in the next two weeks whether all of this news really hits all of the big techs where it hurts.
