Jeanne Calment died in 1997 in Arles, France at the age of 122 +164 days. She attributed her longevity to eating a kilo of chocolate candy each week and a brandy on Sunday.

For health reasons Calment gave up smoking at the age of 114. At the age of 120 she recorded the hit rap song "Maitresse du Temps" 'Time's Mistress' to the tune of "La "Farnadole", an open chain community dance in France in her youth. She sold pencils and canvas to Van Gogh in her father's shop.

An interview at the age of 119. She tells some amusing anecdotes about her alcoholic husband.

RE: "She was African American and attributed her longevity to eating bacon daily."

A single isolated example to buttress one's beliefs does not constitute "proof" that those beliefs are valid.

For example this ----> "Eating candies or sugars in isolation is like smoking a cigarette..." particular opinion would not be shared by this woman:

Woman aged 112 says her secret to long life is smoking 30 cigarettes a day

... which in turn makes me smile, as I enjoy the benefits of cannabis these evening.

and there's this one too: "Whisky and 15 cigarettes a day is the secret of my good health says Dorothy as she celebrates her 100th birthday"

There is a very strong barrier for people at age 115 or 116. Maybe it's 115.5.

There are many who get past the 80s 90s and 100s. But nobody gets past 110/111 other than an insignificant though interesting few who get to 115.

Only 1 very interesting 1 got to 123. Clone her ... too late.
