Barron's Based Forecast, Patrick, it is not just you... we all are having problems... SI is under some kind of virus attack according to the information in their logon page.... something about a BONK virus that sends partial or corrupted bits of transmissions and makes their computer go nuts.... it has been reported on the Internet News and other places of interest. It is some derivative of a former virus to which MSFT has a cure.... they are working on a cure for THIS one now. FORECAST... thanks to Paulo, CAVEAT: Remember, the last 2 forecasts were absolutely awful... so BE CAREFUL. Jan 10 1998 for Jan 12 - 16 Weekly=Down M=d,Tu=d,W=d,Th=d VIX=500 up (DO YOU BELIEVE IT???) - remember, VIX is longer term than a week. VGY=sell DJIA momentum=near peak short term Gut feeling - down before up Volatility=retreating Overall-down Evaluation:of last week's forecast: Weekly-Real loss Daily-100% right Gut feelings: 100% wrong Last week was the second week in a row with a bad forecast! So there you have it! Terrible forecast last week.... this week forecasting DOWN! COMMENTS: the 144 day momentum on the DJIA is the WORST it has been since Dec 1994! And that was the start of the move up that got us here! Be careful, it's a jungle out there! Bill
