Next to unnoticed in the Obama budget which just cleared the House were calls for a 21 Billion increase to 534 Billion in US defense spending for 2010. That is 6.7 Billion more than the Bush administration had projected.

The fact that the Obama administration is increasing military spending is simply being ignored. But that shows that in spite of his different persona, Obama is an even bigger Hawk than his predecessor, President Bush.

Neither the NRA nor Republicans "put guns on the street." People buy them all on their own.

I think police are more prone to shoot nowadays, but there's more than one reason for that. Training is one. More targeting of police officers is another.
