Russell was probably the most comprehensively educated person of the last century. I have heard you say you read comic books in college.

Well, the rest of us were reading Herman Hesse (where the band Steppenwolf got its name) and Thomas Mann. Both nobel prize winners for Magic Mountain and Magister Ludi.

I think you missed the boat if you do not think people can learn a lot from reading Russell. I read his entire biography which is three thick books and includes his correspondence with learned people around the world.

Russell hung around with Alfred North Whitehead, Keynes, Einstein and John Kenneth Galbraith and these folks were among the most educated people on earth.

How you can think reading him was a waste of time either indicates you knew more than he did, or you had no interest in learning from him.

Read Russell in college; a waste of my time.
