ACTUALLY, there is no exemption to free speech for stirring up hate. A person is free to stir up hate as long as it falls short of incitement (as was done by the DNC at the Trump rallies). Not that it is a good idea.

But you either have free speech or you don't. The moment we stop allowing CNN and NYT and WaPo to lie against the president is the day any hope of freedom is lost.

Government-sponsored universities are gray areas that have been counter productive, but as my other posts have indicated, they're on the precipice of taking care of themselves as the taxpayer support slips.

Interestingly, I've not seen ONE online course that includes the kind of political hate speech that professors routinely spew in their classrooms. Not sure what to make of that. Not even Harvard & MIT offer that blubber in their online courses. That I have seen, anyway.
