Here is an excerpt from that post:

In my professional experience, I don't honestly think I have ever seen a stock open to the upside, the day a trading halt is lifted,

No matter how many times I read that, I can't construe it as meaning "In my professional opinion, you should......"

If I said "In my professional experience, Windoze95 has shown itself to be unreliable.", does that mean I'm recommending everyone switch to DOS?

Granted, Mike has a way of ruffling feathers when he posts. That's just his nature. He calls it like he sees it, dissenting opinions be damned. But what he has been doing is asserting that the company is not a good source of factual information, digging for it elsewhere, and reporting it here.

Tonto has been doing much the same, but has been very low-key about it, yet he gets flamed for it. Reason? Because what he reports is sometimes contrary to what the most vocal promoters say. Surprisingly, Tonto seems to draw quite a bit of fire for refusing to get involved in the non-RMIL stuff.

Mike gets flamed more because he takes it a step further than Tonto. He dislikes baseless, over-enthusiastic promotion, and puts a lot of effort into it. Someone earlier called him a "zealot" and I think the term is very appropriate. The term applies equally to some on both sides of the issues.

I think it reflects very poorly on certain people that they wish to sue Mike over this and/or harrass his employer. They want to "shut him down", whatever it takes. Unfortunately, it appears that they are unable to provide evidence that he's in error, or they'd take that route.

The attitude seems to be: If you can't shut him up with incontrovertible evidence that refutes what he says, shut him up any way possible.

If what the "yays" are asserting about RMIL is true, and Mike is wrong, it'll be proven very soon. If that happens, Mike won't have a shred of credibility left, and nobody will pay attention to him ever again in SI. Isn't that enough? Or are the people who say they think that'll happen really sure that it won't?

I still think it smacks of desperation, and it just plain sickens me that it's happening.

Michael,

In your "unprofessional" experience, have you ever seen a stock which was halted by the SEC open to the upside? My comment was that I haven't. Have you?

Michael: You are correct. I missed that post somehow. Still it
doesn't seem to be that bad. He does have quite a disclaimer there.

I have seen brokers post on other threads. NYCNPBBKR used to be
a regular poster on the CYMER thread and nobody had any problems
with his profession.

Perhaps it is to do with who's ox is being gored as NYC was a bit
bullish on the stock. However there were times when he made certain
comments that really stung the company. I remember resenting those
comments. In retrospect I wish I had left the stock when he did.

I have posted sarcastic and negative barbs at some here. I feel I
did it after being unnecessarily attacked by others. I apologized
and have discontinued such posts. I do include a little dry humor
at times.

Corrected I am :)
