If MSFT it just too rich and is using this to stop its competition, its the best arguement to have them broken up by the DOJ as anticompetitive. They are the Standard Oil of the 90's.

Of course, I don't think MSFT is that stupid. They are under investigation by the DOJ, SUN is not just a competitor, its an enemy, And MSFT is having a real turnaround against them in public opinion as people start to realize how much of a cutthroat pirate Gates really is. So they would be wise to back off on this one, take a hit for a few years, fallback and find another target after this blows over.

On the other hand, you have people in charge of MSFT that said publicly to the media " the heck with Janet Reno." Brave but very stupid words.
