Perhaps you could comment upon intraday repetitive patterns that you've noticed, that seem to go off almost like clockwork;

I have generally noticed that after the open we have oscillations for about 2 hours that provide the most opportunity. Then I consider the hours prior to the last hour to be fairly narrow oscillations approx. 1/2 pt. unless the market is active. The last hour is up for grabs as it depends on who is buying or selling. Specific stocks will have specific price swings in which a daytrader can take advantage as you have indicated but it depends on the particular type of trade. I focus on 20% price gains or drops in ONE day as they are the most dependable.
