A few years ago a cop stopped me because I didn't let my blinker blink long enough before turning. Obviously, he's never watched police cars move in and out of lanes without even bothering to use their blinkers. He then deprived me of my freedom for about half an hour because he didn't have anything better to do. For most of us, this is the most we'll see of the police. They're a pain the butt 99% of the time - doing little more than depriving people of their freedom so they can be less bored.
