Competitive. We need to stop giving away the farm. When the business we do with China can only be where our companies get 49% of a joint venture and the Chinese company gets 51%, and the JV uses our IP, our tech, and they get 51% of the profits from things we invented, just so we can have the privilege of doing business in China...I would call that unfair trade. Most businessmen DO call it unfair trade. What Trump wants and what US businessmen want is fair trade. If China does business that way, then we should impose the exact same limitations here in the US on Chinese companies, until such a time as they liberalize their policies. Our policies should be an exact mirror of the policies imposed on us by foreign countries. That is what fair trade is. Liberals seem to think fair trade is when the US gives away our tech, our IP, and our wealth to other countries in return for a pittance. Then when we have widespread unemployment as a result and Chinese companies are eating our lunch all over the world, impoverishing more Americans, they seem clueless as to why this is happening. This is why I am an economic conservative. Liberals are pretty clueless when it comes to economics. You are so filled with self-loathing and guilt that you feel the only way to atone for God knows what is to give away all of the US wealth and impoverish us. Well, where I come from that is called being an idiot. We should dispense with any winners guilt and revel in being winners. Let's compete using all of our know how, our tech, our innovation, and good business and government partnership. If a country like China is being unfair in trade, let's engage in a tit for tat economic warfare, until we get bilateral parity in policies, and then let the best companies win. I'll always bet on the US company and Americans to win on innovation when the rules are fair and there is a level playing field. But this bullshit liberal progressive philosophy of shackling the US and stacking the deck in the favor of other countries in trade deals needs to stop. Trump, for all I agree he's an asshole, gets that about trade. You clearly don't.
