I went looking back through the press announcements for the past year on the Qualcomm web site. The reason that I did this is that when I was catching up after a long absence around Christmas I noticed a lot of talk about gettig the web through Qualcomms phones. I thought that I remembered QCOM signing a licensing agreement with Unwired Planet. Not only did they sign a licensing agreement they made an "equity investment." I am a complete financial illiterate except for what I have learned on this thread (thank you everyone for sharing your knowledge) but that sounds to me like they bought part of the company. A while back there was a post here about a new web interface being worked out between Nokia, Motorola, and I believe Ericcson with Unwired Planet on the software side. If that is true then by my thinking QCOM should be included there. Either way QCOM has had a stake since early 1997 in being able to get the web in some way to their phone. It seems to me that you guys (and gals) are definately on the right track. With the current package that someone mentioned only a few posts back (Eudora with a scheduler etc...) think of what QCOM could put in their phones now in embedded code and features, WOW...

P.S. While I was looking back I was reminded that early in the year QCOM announced that they had made a deal with LGI to supply their QCM line of modules. I wonder what they will be doing with those babys? Could be that we have a wireless modem on the way pretty quickly!
