Glenn, Gee, thanks for posting this historic 30K Ascend Comm. post to me? I'm honored to be its recipient. I am a little concerned that investors have not been discussing their positions...in lieu of the current distress in the market. My current feelings are, even though the Asian crisis will have direct effects on our global interests and will impact certain companies earnings more than others. On a whole the market is over reacting in a state of fear. And it is this fear and panic that effects my positions now... Since I and many others watch our investments very closely such downturns greatly effect our holdings. And as panic spreads smart investors want to be on the sidelines. Historically this has always been the best strategy. Now, the markets react very quickly w/ computer trading. We have successfully shruged off the last to scares.....will it happen again Monday....or Tuesday? I was reading on the Tech options thread a stock astrologers take on full moons and stock decline cycles....scary stuff....Monday is a full moon....yes strange stuff.....but he has real numbers? I will be watching closely in the am...to make my decisions before work...unfortunatetly I can't take the day off. I feel bargain hunters will jump on certain equities in a flight to quality...this is my hope..".Greed is Good" I really can't see this slide being the big one. Here's one opinion from Cousin Bob @ www.stocksite.com: Ideas and trends Of course, there are groups within the technology arena that will be adversely impacted by the problems in Asia. For example, we've seen companies in the disk drive, semiconductor capital equipment, and enterprise software companies experience a fatality or two as a result of the "Asian flu". I believe that, because of all of the uncertainty as to Asia's effects on technology stocks, some groups have been undeservedely punished without any negative word or warning of trouble. This has led to a very opportunistic time for investors to initiate positions in technology stocks that are down just because of the herd's concerns. I expect that once the majority of first quarter earnings reports are released that the numerous groups within technology will rally with a vengeance. Don't bail out of technology stocks that you feel will not be negatively impacted by Asia. I believe that technology will be the engine of our economic growth over the several years to come. To be out of technology stocks is a risky stance to take if you plan on outperforming the market averages. By early next week I will add a technology stock to my portfolio that I feel has been oversold. comment: Bob seems to be a bright guy.....and his stock picks perform very well.....I share is sentiments and analysis on this one!
