In an interview with RT (Russia Today) Vladimir Putin was asked about nuclear weapons in North Korea.

Putin replied, "I believe, Mr. Kim Jong Un has certainly won this round against Trump. — Kim Jong Un is the clear winner."

"Kim is an absolutely competent and already mature politician who has completed his strategic task — he has a nuclear weapon, he has missiles of global reach, up to 13,000km, which can reach almost any point of the globe."

Elaborating, Putin called for "an immediate dialogue with South Korea" and said that he was "willing to send athletes to the Winter Games in South Korea", in spite of the fact that Russian athletes are banned from those games as a penalty for doping.

Putin has previously refused to comment on reports that it is Russia which has been supplying North Korea with rocket fuel which North Korea lacks the technology to make safely.
