I'd be wary about CDB. Granted I can analyse only their trade finance, and wherever I look they are renegotiating debts extended to trade finance. All I said can be translate to: We are witnessing a script that has been played by Japan before with known results. Why think that the outcome will be an improvement on the past? The only thing that differs from the past is SCALE. China is playing the same script with much higher stakes.(by the way the reason I keep watching China is because the collateral damage it can do) I have no hate nor love to China, Japan or other nation-state. I just make a cold analyse based on my observations. I would not be wasting my time if not for the collateral damage. I am a pragmatic guy. I worry not about N. Korea Iran Cuba or any M. East countries or Venezuela. Brexit? In the whole scheme of things it does not cause collateral damage in world scale as China. You may say that scale matters and I have thought about that too. I looked at it on a astronomical scale. Astronomical scale as in: The sheer size of a star will define how it will end. Down here on Earth, it will not end differently than Japan did. Proof? Down here it is guided by human hand. Humans are no different when it comes how they play their hands. Given that we know the previous time scale Japan started post WWII. Grew fast over 3 decades 50s, 60s, and 70s. Reached its zenith mid-80s.Burned bright. And have been slowing down back to its natural size for the last 2 and a half decades. I am making the parallel with China path since 1979. Grew by 3 decades Reached its zenith by 2010 China is today, still keeping my parallel- Japan circa 1987 to 1990. Burning bright right now From now on is down hill. Simply because the men in charge tend to act and react in similar fashion. Obviously, given that we are making parallels on a 70-year time scale from 1946 to about now there is some differences due to the stage the players have developed into. Many things, beyond scale. are playing and affecting our observations (I am going quantum in homage to dwdm); like: more people living today. Technologies at hand (such as information travelling faster cost of computing power More spread of education than 70 years ago Resources distribution and availability The immutable are still here: greed fear hunger. These did not disappear. Outcome of the script will be the same.
