Roebear and all, The PBS special "Secrets of the Gold Rush" was good. It gave a complete perspective of the times. There is another PBS special.

"The Gold Rush" "This month marks the 150th Anniversary of an accidental discovery that led to one of the greatest treasure hunts in American History. This special chronicles the ambitious risk-takers who went to to become some of America's best known and most sucessful entrepreneurs." It is on here in Phoenix on January 20.

BTW there are a lot of people who are expecting today to be another bloodbath in the markets. Right now HongKong is down 773 and Japan is down 330 so it looks like today is going to be a bad one. I wouldn't want to be trying to buy bottoms right now. In fact some people are saying the TA's are indicating a "Bear" market if we have another bad dip today.
