How's this for a contrarian indicator? Three Motley Fool titles occupy places in the TOP 4 of Amazon.com's "Hot 100" list.

And "The Fool" is as much of a raging bull as ever, spouting platitudes like "We concern ourselves with 15 and 20 year returns" and "Ten years from now, twenty years from now, nobody will remember that the DJIA was down 222.20 points one nervous Friday way back in January, 1998."

They also note that ALL Dow stocks were down Friday, indicating that we already have "Panic! Carnage! Blood in the streets!".

Well, that's it. We can sleep comfortably tonight because The Motley Fool says THIS IS THE TIME TO BE UP TO YOUR SCALPS IN EQUITIES!

Happy days are here again
The sky above is clear again ...

Bob

I heard about anarchy of SI on another thread...where is the story? "Home" then what? Thanks.

Forget it...3 minutes later and I found it(multiple Home screens here?)..will go read it now.

Been reading Washington Post, Boston Globe, LA Times, etc. Like we both said...alot of opinions are out there. "Fool" land always has put a "Spin" on their down days by claiming long term is their strategy. Still, you have to wonder at what point do they get wise and pull a plug on a stock/sector/market.

Me, I'm trying to ammend my outlook at least weekly, why fight a trend if it is against you...sure were all going to have loser stocks (nobody can prevent that), but why fight a downtrend as a whole? Not that I'm saying sell, sell the sky is falling, rather why not adjust your cash, funds, equities, strategy slightly with the crowd. Seems like for me it helps more times than not.

I bought some puts Thur., still have long positions (but not adding obviously). Going to have to trim some more and go cash(40% maybe) again this week. Maybe later in Jan. begin re-entering...like I said, this Asian Circus is crazy, but may not be over.

Comm. sector doing well here though...still hot last week...this week?

In general I hope few dissapoint for earnings or the Bears are going to have a field day with this one well into Feb/Mar. MOT,CPQ,INTC...please don't let the tech sector down...pllllllllease!

What low for Hang tonight RD? Open up and trade 150 to the black...then close 300 to the red? I sure hope not.

Let's touch base tonight while it's trading.
