Prudent Intel investors are either temporarily sidelined or so far in the money that they could not care less about what happens when Intel releases the numbers. Unlike AMD, Intel is a highly profitable company.

Intel is expected to earn 90 cents per share while AMD is expected to take another loss for the quarter -- amounting to roughly 13 cents per share.

Nice angle. That 90 cents per quarter translates into $3.60 for the year ( a nice round figure if I ever saw one) and that's assuming they don't continue to grow earnings -- and we all know they will continue growing in leaps and bounds. Anybody willing to give Intel a PE of 20 is willing to pay $72, again that would be based on flat earnings. AMD isn't making money and never will, how do you put a value on a company like that?
