Hi James:

Concerning LMDS signals bouncing off buildings,
the Bellcore study conducted in Brooklyn showed this
does not help. The key variable is the location of the
receiver antenna off the ground. The probability of
coverage was only 70% for antennas located 4m above the
ground, and was much higher for antennas at 10m. Of
course, I expect that customers living in tall buildings
in Manhattan will get excellent service. Note that there
exists a solution for hard to reach areas, which involves
the use of repeaters, but this will drive up the infrastructure
costs.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
