The guy running the DOJ lied to Congress and in his national security clearance forms. He was also forced to recuse himself from the Russia probe because he had contacts with Russia and lied about it. If he were a Democrat he'd be in jail. Republicans use the government to go after political opponents. It's something Putin does. At the core of everything republicans believe is based on this single idea, "what would Putin do?" Putin ensures money flows to the oligarchs. So does the gop. Putin doesn't conservative anything. Neither does the gop. Putin hates his opponents. So do republicans. Putin lies to his people. Republicans do it every single day.
