a/d = advancers/decliners on nyse (just a count, not weighted for amount of change or size of company)

i guess bill has this as a ratio and correlates it with djia?

Jim,

The A/D is the number of advancers minus decliners and the total in some way act like an index.... If you have the DOW moving a lot but A/D flat, then you know it is just the big-caps moving... same thing with comparisons to NYSE or NAZ... although the techs seem to dominate THAT one.
