Huawei has made their products unacceptable to anyone concerned about security.

Being a subsidiary of the People's Liberation Army makes them immediately suspect.

The documented fact that Huawei has designed surveillance into their products which report back to the PLA on demand is a real non-starter.

The NSA continually tries to figure out how to take advantage of technology used in the marketplace, but they don't require US tech firms to build surveillance capability for the NSA into products, nor would US firms acquiesce to such a demand.

Few roadside vendors in Nigeria will be concerned about the Chinese military collecting surveillance on their transactions, location and communication, but those involved in Nigeria's more critical infrastructure need phones from a different vendor.
